London Looks

Hi friends, and TGIF!

We’re taking a little jaunt over to London today. 🙂

Last month, AJ and I decided to put some airline credits we had to use and head to London for five days, just the two of us (thanks, grandparents)! I was super excited for a little getaway and the first thing I did after the trip was booked was start planning my outfits (#priorities).

One piece I knew I was bringing along was my black leather backpack, which I purchased before we took another quick trip to Rome last spring. I loved the ease of just throwing in whatever I needed for the day (plus I was still pumping at that time so it was perfect for packing a small pump and cooler bag #momlife). Unfortunately, the exact one I have is sold out, but I linked a couple other similar options below. (I’ve had my eye on the black Marc Jacobs one for awhile now!) If mine comes back in stock, it was a Nordstrom find, I’ll be sure to let you guys know.

We had a busy agenda – take in as many tourist sites as we can (Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Westminster Abbey, Tower of London…you name it), try to hang with the royals (RUDE that Kate & Wills didn’t invite us in for tea, but whatever lol), a local pub and food tour. We also prioritized time for afternoon tea on our first day, and AJ took the reigns on planning all our dinners out.

We also took a day trip the Cotswolds, which is a region about an hour west of London known for their wool trade, particularly during the Middle Ages. This area is extremely beautiful and historic characterized by quaint small towns and villages built from the Cotswold stone (a yellow limestone). Although the day started out quite rainy, we did some shopping, had lunch and a few pints at a local pub, and visited charming old churches, including one over a thousand years old!

In (over)packing my bags for this trip, I knew I needed outfits that would be warm, comfy (and cute!) shoes, and have options where I could mix and match. As you can see, I pretty much stuck to my basic black & white colors, but threw on my red wool J.Crew jacket daily for a little pop.

Don’t mind the bags under my eyes in the above picture! We took a red-eye flight and hit the ground running as soon as we arrived. What better way to fight jet lag than throwing on a cute hat and snagging a glass of champagne during your tea time at Sketch?!

The white sweater I’m wearing below is also the COZIEST! ❤ I threw it on when we ventured out our second night to try the tasting menu at Lyle’s in the Shoreditch neighborhood. You’ll notice it’s loose, so lots of room for a food baby!

Sorry for some of the grainy pics. Mood lighting in the hotel does not bode well for mirror selfies.

I’m happy to share a post going into more detail about what we saw, where we stayed, and any tips if you have an upcoming vacation to London planned. But in the meantime, I’m linking my favorite pieces that I wore on our trip and will continue to wear this winter, including my go-to Free People black jeans!
