O U T F I T D E T A I L S
Happy Monday friends! I decided to throw it back on the blog and introduce you to my little family in today’s Monday Meet Up Series!
As I’m just getting started in this space, I’m trying to find that balance where I share enough about myself to keep you guys engaged, but I don’t want to go overboard with all the mundane details. I thought for those of you who don’t know me I would tell you a little bit more about life with my husband AJ, and my daughter Juliana. They’re both pretty cool, IMHO 😉 And you’ll see more of them in my posts and stories.
The above picture was our first official outing as a family of three when Juliana was about 7 weeks old in August 2017. It was fun and scary, but mostly I just couldn’t WAIT to get out of the house at that point!
Monday Meet Up Series #3
- AJ and I met at work almost 7 years ago! When I started my job in 2011, he worked at the same company, but was based in Connecticut as a sales rep. When he moved back to NYC in 2012 for an in-house job, he had all these big plans to enjoy the single life in the city. Well…..we started talking during a work happy hour within his first few weeks back, and the rest is history! If you’re thinking, “Yikes! Dating a coworker is pretty risky!“, yes yes it is. We both had those thoughts too. I personally was thinking, “If this doesn’t work out, one of us is going to have to find a new job.” Fortunately for all involved, things went great, and here we are nearly 7 years later – married and still working together. Below is one of our first pics together, at my 27th birthday party.
- We have been married for almost 4 years (on March 20th)! We got married in Jersey City, New Jersey, where it surprised snowed over 7″ on our wedding day. We knew snow was forecasted, but no one expected the amount we got. That day it JUST. KEPT. SNOWING. It was pretty, but our venue was right along the Hudson River, overlooking downtown Manhattan and the snow kind of messed up the gorgeous views we were so excited about! Still though, it was a pretty perfect day and we had a blast celebrating with our family and friends. (For local readers, we chose Liberty House as our venue and LOVED it!)
- We have a one and a half year old daughter, Juliana, who is the MOST FUN! I’m loving this age because I feel like every day she’s doing something new – new words, new attitudes (which is NOT always the most fun) – and she’s just becoming more of a little PERSON, no longer my little baby <insert all the crying emojis here>. We call her Ju Ju or Jellybean. Isn’t funny how nicknames just sort of evolve? Her daycare started calling her Ju Ju and we adopted it at home (she actually calls herself Ju Ju now when asked her name), and Jellybean started when we would swaddle her as a newborn. I thought she looked like a little bean all wrapped up, and it grew from there!
Thanks for reading about my little family! Comment on my instagram post with a family detail of your own, I’d love to learn more about you! 🙂
